The Saints First team travel to Presteigne FC tomorrow evening(Friday) for a league game whilst the Reserves host new boys Northcote FC on Saturday in the league cup, the following day the Sunday Saints travel to Phoenix FC for a league fixture.
Team news-
Manager Gareth Jenkins was dealt a massive blow this week with the news that the influential Brendan Hackett has torn his hamstring and could be out for up to five weeks. Player of the year Adam Finn also misses out with a knee problem as does centre half partner Jake Atkinson and captain Stu Davies is working, in form striker Jack Biggs is 50/50 and will face a fitness test before kick off.
On the plus side Kevin Jones returns after missing last weeks game with a back problem,vice captain Jordan Baker returns after missing last week through work, Rory Hackett is called up from the reserves after several good displays as is Chris Preece and winger Gavin Williams returns to first team duties after a year out with ankle trouble. Gav had an operation earlier in the year and played his first game back for the reserves at Builth last weekend.
Jenko had this to say “Presteigne is never an easy place to go so we will have to be on top of our game.They have been unlucky in their last two games only losing by the odd goal” He went on to say “We will have to be more focused than at times last weekend and not lose concentration. Hopefully we will be fully switched on, get the points and keep the run going”.
