SAINTS 2 EWYAS HAROLD 1.

The Saints hosted Ewyas Harold in their last friendly before the new season kicks off and ran out 2-1 winners.

Striker Josh Wisniewski opened the scoring with a bullet of a header after a superb cross from Phil Davies in the 8th minute. The Saints were on top in the first half with Ben Bevan beating the keeper but a defender cleared his effort off the line, Rob Snedden also went close with a 25 yard free kick clipping the bar. A big kick from keeper Ian Jones found his brother Kevin who out muscled two markers before rounding the keeper to put the Saints 2-0 up after 35 minutes. HT 2-0

Player manager Tommy Taylor brought himself on in the second half and soon had his team playing better football, after 70 minutes a stunning strike by the left winger of the away side gave keeper Jones no chance in the Saints goal. The rest of the second half was quite even without a lot of goal scoring chances by either side. FT 2-1.

Another good win for the lads in the final pre season workout and again many good performances. Gavin Williams is a major doubt for the Rhosgoch game after limping off again early with a recurrence of the injury he sustained at Wooferton. I thought Havo and Preecy played very well tonight, Wiz had his best pre season game, Steve Goodwin played well again but my man of the match for a class performance would go to central defender Josh Davies.
