Sunday Saints Draw.

The Sunday Saints drew 2-2 with Cosmos FC this morning at Forest Raod. The visitors scored in the 89th which saw them share the spoils.

Saints goalscorers were Craig Forsyth and Nathan Heighway, the duo have scored 19 goals between them this season.

Seventh placed Hay faced fourth placed Cosmos which looked to be a tough game on paper, but after last weeks away win at Ledbury, the Sunday side have become more confident and feel that they can get a result against most sides in the Hereford Sunday southern division.

Both sides started well and had chances at either end but it was Hay who found the break through when returning influential midfielder Ben Bevan took a free kick outside the box which striker Nathan Heighway latched a thigh on to and sent the ball flying into the bottom left corner giving the keeper no chance.

After going one nil up Hay took their foot off the gas and some great build up play from Cosmos led to Carlton Maddocks equalising for the Herefordshire outfit.

Some stern words at half time from manager Gareth Ratcliffe and Dai Aerosmith inspired Hay to up a gear in the second half and that they did when Craig Forsyth gathered the ball and sent a delicate lobbed shot over the keeper to give the Saints the lead once again.

With still thirty minutes of the game left Hay were playing a little edgy and rushing play trying to see out the game. Cosmos kept pressing until three minutes from the final whistle there was some poor marking in the area which saw Cosmos captain Jamie Bake left unmarked and the centre back smashed the ball home past helpless Hay keeper Tom Bevan to salvage a draw and leave Hay reeling from a moment of poor concentration & marking which resulted in making it feel like a defeat rather than a draw as the Saints should have put the game to bed.
