Sunday Saints.

Yesterday The Sunday ‘Saints’ lost a tight game against Barrels FC 1-0.

On a pitch which was still frozen the game should not have been played, however, the referee decided the game should go ahead. He said he would review it after 10 mins and consult with both teams.

Both the home and away side struggled to adapt to the conditions, it was Barrels who broke the deadlock mid way through the first half, their striker casually stroking the ball home from close range with Saints defended Steve Jones trying to clear the ball from crossing the line but his efforts went in vain as the ball trickled over. 1-0

Chances were few and far between and when they did come the ball simply would not go into the back of the net which frustrated the Saints. There was immense pressure at the end with Hay doing everything to force an equalizer, a draw would have been a fair result but Barrels held on to take all three points. Ft 1-0

A Good performance from everyone especially Harry Ratcliffe who stood out for the Saints and considering that the Sunday side haven’t played for three weeks it was a decent performance.

Next up the Sunday Saints is a tough looking fixture at Cosmos FC.
