The Saints were on top straight from the kick off and went 0-1 up after 6 minutes when Ben Bevan sent in a cross which Gavin Williams headed powerfully past Gummer in the Presteigne goal. The home stopper then made 2 quality saves to first deny Kevin Jones and then an even better block to stop a Rob Snedden rocket. The Saints made it 0-2 on 27 minutes when once again Williams headed in a cross though this time it was from Kevin Jones. The game was put to bed on 33 minutes after midfielder Sam Mayglothling threaded a through ball for sriker Jones who blasted past Gummer. ht 0-3.
The second half wasn’t the best with the game already won, Presteigne to their credit never gave up and saw a lot of the ball but never tested Simon Hamer in The Saints goal, Hamer came out and caught well from corners but that was about it for him on the night. Trevor Gummer once again made a good save late on from a Johnny Daw long range effort but had little else to do in the second half. ft 0-3.
A very good first half from the lads which sealed the points, we looked a little tired second half but the job was done by then. Not sure on the man of the match so will give it to our back 4 who stopped an unbeaten homeside from testing Simon in our goal.
