The Saints won 3-1 this afternoon against Bow Street FC.
We led 2-1 at the break with goals from Jack Biggs and Brendan Hackett, a solitary Rob Snedden strike in the second half sealed the points for The Saints.
Bow Street had the better of the opening exchanges but never really tested Saints keeper Steve Jones. It was more of a midfield battle which was one of those stop start games.
We went ahead in the 18th minute, from a Brendan Hackett corner, top scorer Jack Biggs bundled the ball over the line after it came through a crowd of players. 1-0.
The visitors equalised after 32 minutes, their player beat the offside trap and finished well past the diving Jones. 1-1.
Just as it looked as if the teams were going to go in at half time level, we broke down the right, Rob Snedden whipped a ball into the box which was met by Hackett who shot first time from 12 yards out to put us back in the lead.

We were the better side in the second half and in the 53rd minute an inch perfect pass found Snedden who was one on one with the visitors keeper, he kept his cool to score and put us 3-1 up.
Matt James was put through but the keeper saved well, Jack Biggs also went close from a Hackett corner.
There were half chances at both ends, Bow Street’s Tom Williams couldn’t believe he didn’t score when he dribbled his way through with five minutes to go. Saints keeper Jones saved his original shot, the ball came back to Williams who shot again, Jones saved with his legs this time only for the ball to go straight back to the ‘Street’ midfielder, who shot for third time but again Jones saved.

It was a tight affair, the difference on the day was us taking our chances and they didn’t. Bow Street are a good young footballing side who will only get better if they stick together. I thought they edged the first half and us the second.
Gaffers man of the match was Rob Snedden who never stopped running all game, he also scored one and made one.
