SAINTS 1 TREHARRIS 3.

The Saints lost 1-3 in the final of The Brecon Town Cup this afternoon to a well organised Treharris side who took their chances very well.

All the goals were scored in an evenly contested first half, Treharris going 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes before a good move involving Josh Wisniewski and Kevin Jones the latter putting  in Gavin Williams who finished from 10 yards out. 8 minutes before half time saw the welsh league side score from a quickly taken corner which gave Chris Lloyd no chance in the Saints goal.

The Saints were much the better side in the second half dominating possession but never really tested the Treharris keeper, new signing Brian Dyer got the ball in the net from a far post header but the linesman ruled it out for offside, Treharris always looked dangerous on the break but they also never really test Lloyd, referee Rob Evans sent Craig Ready off for foul and abusive language late on in the game.

The Saints kept the ball well all game but some over playing on times led to mistakes which resulted in Treharris scoring all 3 of their goals, I thought Brian Dyer was our best player on the day and was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet.

Team- C.Lloyd, D.Jones(Z.Snape), C.Preece(c), W.Evans, S.Davies(L.Pugh), G.Williams(J.Davies), T.Weaver(G.Keeble), B.Dyer, S.Mayglothling, K.Jones, J.Wisniewski.
