The Saints had the first opportunity to open the scoring but saw a seventh minute free-kick fired straight into the Newcastle defensive wall.
We went ahead when Richard Lynes found the back of the south Shropshire men’s goal with a low shot from the edge of the penalty area.
The Saints goalkeeper Tom Bevan was called upon to make a fine save, to keep his team in front, when turning over a fierce shot after the Saints failed to clear a 29th minute corner.
The Saints had two good opportunities to add to their lead ten minutes later. First a close range shot was blocked, following a speedy counter attack from their own half, before an effort was blocked from the ensuing corner.
The Forset Road club were made to pay for these failures just a minute later when a cross was headed home at the far post.
The Saints saw a 42nd minute Stuart Snedden free-kick narrowly fly over the target before Callum Maddy went narrowly wide with his cross-shot three minutes after the interval. Snedden went close with another free-kick in the 54th minute before Newcastle went ahead seven minutes later when a low cross was turned in at the far post.
Daniel Elvested fired wide from 25 yards in the 68th minute before Craig Forsyth drew the Saints level after heading home from a 79th minute free-kick.
The Saints turned the final around when Maddy’s low cross was smuggled in at the near post eight minutes later by Kyle Harding. Bevan made a vital save in stoppage time that ultimately saw his team lift the trophy after the final whistle.
