The First Team beat Newbridge 3-1 last night under the light at Forest Road.
Goal scorers were Jack Biggs(2) and Josh Wisniewski.
Saints goal keeper Jordan Bailey saved a Aaron Powell penalty in the last minute. Powell scored the visitors goal in the first half in the 21st minute to bring the scores level at 1-1 after Jack Biggs had headed the Saints in front in the 14th minute.
The game was end to end for the rest of half but on the stroke of half time Josh Wisniewski was the quickest to react after the Newbridge keeper spilled the ball again and he fired us into a 2-1 lead.

We upped the tempo in the second half and looked the stronger side, we had big shouts for a penalty when Tom Landon was brought down in the box but the ref waved played on. Adi Lawford and Landon had other chances to extend our lead but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Up the other end Bailey made a great save from the impressive Lyndon Jones.
With 5 minutes to go Matty Tong squared the ball to Biggs who netted from close range to extend our lead to 3-1.
It wasn’t over just yet as the referee awarded Newbridge a penalty after Captain Chris Preece was adjudged to have tripped a visiting player in the area. Goal keeper Jordan Bailey dived to his left to deny Powell his second of the match.

I’m not sure who the match sponsor chose as man of the match(I will find out), for me it was the impressive Jack Biggs who looked a threat on goal every time he went forward.
