Leintwardine 10 Saints(Hfd Lge) 1

The last game of the season turned out to be against the best side we have faced all season with the three Hodge brothers running the show for the home side. At half time the players were a little down however, showed tremendous courage and commitment to keep going in the second half. A consolation goal from the penalty spot was scored by Paul Ward Willis after he had been pulled back in the box following some neat football from the Saints. Nick Rodell shouted ” come on boys were in this” as we made our way back to the half way line – score? 9-1!! Well done Nick:).

Throughout the game particularly second half when we had the ball we tried to play football and on several occasions kept it really well. Other chances were made through the game with Graeme Keeble’s free kick nearly deceiving everyone and dipping into the far corner. PWW was also unlucky after a Garry Keeble shot was only just kept out by the keeper and PWW couldn’t quite apply the finish.

Nick Rodell had a good game for the Saints firstly on the left side of midfield and then in the middle where he competed very well. Also young Jack Cripps came off the bench early second half and showed some very good touches.

Well done for keeping going lads, as I said against a very good side.

Finally thanks to, Chris Bounds who was originally managing the side as without him the players would not have had football this season and also to the players who have turned up week in week out. Cheers lads.
