It was The Rovers who went 0-1 up when Callum Bowen headed them in front after 8 minutes, The Saints Lloyd Holland equalised after 32 minutes when he cleverly chipped the ball over his marker and volleyed in from the edge of the box.

On 37 minutes it was 1-2 to The Rovers when their Captain Joel Weale scored from 22 yards out with a free kick which gave keeper Mike Ward no chance. Rovers deservedly led 1-2 at the break.

The second half was dominated by Hay but they found it hard to break down a stubborn Talgarth defence in which Jamie Smith was outstanding. With 20 minutes to go The Rovers keeper Andrew Meadows was shown a straight red card for bringing down John Sly on the edge of the box, Mark Walsh had to don the keepers jersey which didn’t help the already under pressure Rovers side. Saints top scorer John Sly got a deserved equaliser with about 10 minutes to go 2-2 ft.

The winning goal came 5 minutes into the first period of extra time when substitue Jack Cripps beat his marker and whipped in a cross which was headed in by Josh Davies to make it 3-2. The Rovers did have a couple of chances late on when they broke away but couldn’t find the equaliser.

Saints stand in Captain Rob Snedden lifted the cup presented to him by Anne Harley daughter of Ron Ellis. Jamie Smith of Talgarth Rovers was voted The Ron Ellis Cup man of the match after a superb defensive performance.
