Saints 1 Ewyas Harold 2.

The Saints went down 1-2 at home tonight against Ewyas Harold.

I didn’t see all the game but what I did see I felt we deserved at least a point if not all three.

Kevin Jones put the Saints ahead with about 20 minutes to go after Josh Wisnieski’s left foot strike was tipped onto the bar by the visitors keeper, Jones headed the rebound into the corner of the net to make it 1-0.

The last 10 minutes were very frustrating and annoying to watch, first Chris Preece slips over in the box near a Harold player and the referee awards them a penalty to the amazement of everyone in the ground, when asked by several Saint’s players “what’s that for” he said “Preece pulled the player back”. The penalty was duly dispatched making it 1-1 with about six minutes to go.

The Saints went looking for the winner, Wisniewski put in Jones who pulled his shot wide when in on goal,  then came two more awful decisions by the referee, first up Jones turned in the box and as he shot he had his legs taken from under him, the referee waved play on, the ball ended coming back off a Harold player to Tom Weaver who was then flagged offside, then to make matters worse youngster Jack Cripps was also taken clean out in the box and again the referee didn’t want to know.

Ewyas Harold were awarded a fair penalty in the last minute after a trip by Graeme Keeble which was well taken giving Jack Bradley no chance in the Sainst goal. ft 1-2.

Ben Bevan had a very good game for us tonight but my man of the match goes to our Captain Chris Preece who was excellent all night.

The referee cost us the points tonight, shocking performance!
