Saints 2 Penybont 5.

The Saints lost 2-5 to an impressive Penybont tonight under the lights at Forest Road.

Youngster Tom James netted his first ever Saints goal after some good wing play by the lively Kevin Goodwin, the 16 year old finished from close range after Goodwin cut the ball back. Evergreen Kevin Bonzo Bufton latched onto a long ball to net the equaliser after 35 minutes, then two quick goals just before half time saw Bont go in 1-3 up.

I missed the fourth goal just after half time but I’m told it was one of the best seen at Hay this season, with ten to go the visitors got their fifth. The Saints got a late penalty which defender Paul Williams blasted past the Bont keeper giving him no chance, it was also Williams’ first goal for the club since joining from Rhosgoch. ft 2-5.

Dan Jones’ side have one game left which will see them travel to Sennybridge on Friday 13th May, k.o. 6.30pm.
