The Sunday Saints came away from league leaders Pencombe with a creditable 2-2 draw but it could and should of been so much more. The Saints found themselves 1-0 up when centre half Liam Pugh headed in from a corner. Pencombe equalised only for striker John Sly to put the Saints 2-1 ahead. The Saints missed several more chances to extend their lead, Sub Mike Price did get the ball in the net with about 2 minutes to go only to have it ruled out, Pencombe went up the other end and scored the equaliser. FT 2-2.
Manager Gareth Ratcliffe said he would of been happy before the game to come away with a point but feels the lads did more than enough to win the game on a very small tight pitch. He couldn’t pick an individual out for a man of the match performance and decided it was a whole team award.
