Saints 5 Radnor Valley 1.

The Saints struggled to breakdown a resilient Radnor defence all the way through the first half. The two best chances fell to Kevin Jones and Rob Snedden but both were saved by the excellent Radnor keeper. HT 0-0

The second half was very different with the Saints opening the scoring in the 48th minute when Snedden put Jones in on goal and he made no mistake from close range. Five minutes later Jones returned the compliment for Snedden who drilled a low shot past the stranded away keeper. Radnor pulled a goal back on the hour mark after a rare attack when Anthony Vernals lobbed Bryan Kirkam  to make it 2-1. Kev Jones then got his second of the game which gave the Saints their two goal advantage back. Jones claimed his hat-trick with ten minutes to go and also his best of the season when he chipped the ball over his head, he then outmuscled his marker and volleyed the ball in the back of the net via the post. Jones rounded off the days scoring with his 4th of the day to make the final score 5-1 to the Saints.

Not the best of performances from the Saints but the lads have played a lot of football in the last couple of weeks and still managed to score 5 goals and more importantly close in on the runners up place. Nobody really stood out to make the man of the match easy,Gavin had another good game,Preecy was neat and bossed the middle, but I’m giving it to Kev Jones for scoring 4 goals one of which was a screamer.
