Reserves Stay Top.

Andrew Harris’s  side stayed top of the league with their best performance to date, after struggling to get 14 players, he was boosted with Tom Weaver and Chris Preece making it.

The Saints started well for a change and a good move saw Weaver play in strike partner Horrigan to get his now expected goal. The Saints made it two when right winger Jamie Howard beat his man then out paced him. I will say that again “out paced him”,to square for Tom Weaver who with plenty of space got his head up and with a “one of those dinks” left the keeper stranded.

The defence were holding with there own concrete Ron Steve Jones solid as ever,Gavin Williams had a couple of chances to extend the lead but just missed out.

The team knew that with the wind against them  the second half would be harder and Preece came on to sure up the midfield, Weaver had a great chance but headed straight at the keeper, not long after it was three with Weaver playing a clever ball for Williams who with a chip ratty would be proud of gave the keeper no chance.

The home side  hit the cross bar but  to be fair that was as close as they got.

A cracking team performance that looked more solid playing 4-4-2, the front two linked really well, although there are 16 years between them!!!It was good to see Adam Finn back playing and work hard throughout.

Tom Weaver was excellent again today but man of the match was Steve Jones.
