Sunday Saints.

Belmont Wanderers ended the Sunday Saints recent good run with a 2-0 home victory.

The conditions didn’t help matters, wind, rain and also a bobbly pitch saw both sides struggle to put two passes together.

In the first half there was nothing to separate the two sides, it was one of those games where nothing was going right for the Saints. Both sides had half chances to open the scoring but neither could fine the back of the net. Ht 0-0

The second half followed a similar pattern until Belmont scored from a corner, Marlon Ransome scoring from close range after a scramble in the Saints box.

Towards the end some frustration kicked in as captain Matt Pugh fouled Belmont striker Marlon Ransome resulting in a yellow card and a penalty which was coolly placed away by Dixon for the homesides second of the match which killed the game altogether.

It was a frustrating afternoon for strikers Heighway & Forsyth with no real chances falling their way, Cheverton & Emmitt worked hard in midfield and defence, it was just one of those games to put to bed and move on, and things don’t get any easier as next up for Hay are 3rd placed Stagecoach at home next Sunday, 11am kick off
