The first half was a cagey affair with both sides having chances to take the lead. Saints stopper Tom Bevan pulled off a triple save mid way through the first half to keep Northcote out. Up the other end Kyle Harding went close with a shot from the edge of the area but it went wide. Ht 0-0
The second half saw The Saints get on top and in the 55th minute they went ahead. Harding beat his marker and cut a ball back for to strike partner Darren Horrigan who made no mistake from 6 yards out. 1-0.
Harding put his side 2-0 with a brilliant lob in the 72nd minute, Horrigan added a third late on to put The Saints into the hat for the next round of the league cup draw.
Manager Tiny Harding was pleased with his sides performance and picked out Harry Gilbert as man of the match.
