Saints Reserves 2 Llandrindod Wells 4.

The Saints had a couple of early chances with Dan Jones firing wide when put through on goal and Tom Weavers volley was saved by the visiting keeper, Llandod went up the other end and hit the post from a long range effort.

Llandrindod took the lead on 30 minutes after a good move was finished off by Kev Martin, Paul Bishop made it 2 just before half time after Martin’s inch perfect cross to the back post. Alec Winstone nearly pulled a goal back just before half time but his header from a corner was kicked off the line. ht 0-2

Ollie Cook came on as a half time sub and scored with his first touch just after the re start to make it 1-2, Llandod then took control of the game with a some slick passing and using their pacey widemen well, Michael Watkins made it 1-3 with a thumping header from a corner giving Chris Lloyd no chance. The Saints were soon 1-4 down when Martin beat Lloyd to the ball and his goal bound shot was helped over the line by a sliding Ceri Ward who tried desperately to clear it to safety getting a nasty injury for his efforts.

The Saints had several late efforts saved by Adam Wright and cleared off the line by defenders but did manage a second goal when Winstone headed a corner across the goal where Alex Simmonds was on hand to head in for his first Mid Wales South goal. ft 2-4.

A good performance from The Reserves who matched the league leaders for most of the game the difference was the finishing on the night with Kevin Martin in their side they will always score goals.
