Juniors.

Hay St Mary’s Under 16’s progressed to the quarter final of the Merthyr Town Centenary Cup after a 1-5 away win at Georgetown B, they will now face Penydarren FC away.

Manager Mark “Tiny” Harding was over the moon with the result. He said “It was a tough place to go, I asked Callum Maddy for a man of the match performance and that’s exactly what I got, we look forward to the next round at Penydarren”.

Goal scorers were Tommi Lewis(2), Kyle Harding(1), Andrew Barrell(1) and new signing Ty Garrad(1).

Our Under 14’s beat Brecon Town FC u14’s 7-2 yesterday morning in the semi final of the South Powys league cup and will now face Llandrindod.

After going 0-1 down early in the game to a fantastic long range free kick we played some quality football to lead 4-1 at half time. The equaliser was own goal after a cross from the right, captain Gethin Williams made it 2-1 when he powered in a header from a Jow Winfield corner. Matty Tong made it 3-1 when he volleyed in a Winfield cross and it was soon 4-1 with yet another own goal after a Josh Warn cross from the byline.

Brecon made it 4-2 within a minute of the restart, it was then end to end for twenty minutes until man of the match Joe Winfield netted a quick fire double to put his side 6-2 up and and out of sight, Tom Ritchie scored the final goal to make it 7-2 after cutting in from the left and firing across the diving keeper. Ft 7-2.
